地下灌溉又称“渗灌”。将灌溉水引入地下，湿润根区土壤的灌溉。一般由输水部分和田间灌水部分组成。输水部分可采用渠道或管道与水源连接。地下灌溉不破坏土壤结构，不占用耕地，便于管理，还可以均匀输送水分和养分，给植物提供稳定的生长环境，同时地下灌溉可以把地表下5-10厘米厚的土壤控制在干燥环境下，这样可以减少病虫害、杂草的蘖生，还可以减少农药的费用，可以增加作物的产量。地下灌溉一般适用于上层土壤有良好毛细管特性，而下层土壤透水性比较弱的地区，由于表土湿润不足，不利于苗期生长，所以不适用于土壤盐碱化的地区。
